    $3.00

This one's a history of the East Bay through the lens of independent bookstores and their mercurial management. 2. COMETBUS #53- ZINE

    COMETBUS #53- ZINE

    $3.00

Cometbus 53! Maddalena Poletta and Aaron trade writing duties in this issue, and their writing styles compliment each other quite nicely. You can always count on Cometbus to provide a good subcultural fable. Where punks are the protagonists, and hippies often the fools. The villainous roles are filled by time, and death, and the whole thing will be related to books somehow. Even as Aaron implores the reader to focus on more than the ending, to pay attention to the process itself, he provides us with storybook reliability, and comforting resolution every time. The issue features Bent Stories, wherein motorcycles are ridden, and hats lost forever. It also includes the fascinating story of John Holmstrom, student under Will Eisner, and perhaps, the inventor of punk as we know it. In the NYC Scene Report, we learn what punk shirts are being worn around town, and Hole In The Wall is about an underground "apartment" in a subway tunnel. Maddalena tells a series of stories about cancer that will break your heart, one in the form of letters. And Nate Powell did the cover. Yes! Learn More

    COMETBUS #55- "Pen Pals" ZINE

    $3.00

  5. COMETBUS #58- Zimmerwald ZINE

    COMETBUS #58- Zimmerwald ZINE

    $3.00

A teenager finds solace in a diner full of grumpy seniors during the heydey of San Francisco punk. It's a mythological place, full of ghostly archetypes, the aging veterans of scenes past and future. Reads like a novel, but is it fiction or barely disguised autobiography? Or is it the obituary of a movement? That's up to the reader to decide and Aaron to never let on. Either way, the backstory of the angry old woman glaring at you from the other end of the counter becomes a disturbing glimpse into your own future and distressing as this may be it's hard to put down or get out of your head. 6. COMETBUS- "Mixed Reviews" BOOK

    COMETBUS- "Mixed Reviews" BOOK

    $5.00

Just as "Chicago Stories" goes out of print, we are treated to another new short book from Aaron Cometbus. It pulls together a few selections previously publishing in other zines, magazines, and newspapers to create a story about his time in New York City, taking a walk for his 30th birthday, the switch of an old friend to a new lover, coffee reviews in Pensacola, a clever book review of Peops by Fly, a library love story, and more. 7. HENRY & GLENN FOREVER- Book

    HENRY & GLENN FOREVER- Book

    $7.00

Starring super-notorious musclebound punk/metal dudes Glenn Danzig and Henry Rollins (with a little help from super-notorious soft-rockdudes Hall and Oates) Henry & Glenn Forever is a love story to end all love stories! The premise of this comic is explained in the beginning: “Henry and Glenn are very good 'friends.' They are also 'room mates.' Daryl and John live next door. They are satanists.” What follows is made up of ultra-metal violence, cryfest diary entries, cringing self-doubt, and mega-hilarious emo-meltdowns. Who knew Danzig was such a vulnerable, self-conscious sweetie-pie? Who knew Rollins was such a caring spouse? Who knew Hall and Oates were so infernally evil—yet so considerate? Well, illustrating/writing team Igloo Tornado (featuring super-awesome comix dude Tom Neely) did and they kicked down 66 illustrated pages telling all. Genius on all fronts. Terrifyingly cute. Cutely terrifying. As the real-life Rollins says, quoted on the back cover, “Has Glenn seen this? Trust me, he would not be impressed.” Learn More
