  1. BAD BANANA- "Cry About It" 7"EP

BAD BANANA- "Cry About It" 7"EP

    $6.00

After the dissolution of P.S. Eliot and before they started Waxahatchee and Swearin’, Allison and Katie Crutchfield traded off writing pop punk songs in the short-lived project Bad Banana. After their Crushfield demo, Bad Banana released their only 7”, Cry About It, on Puzzle Pieces Records, and it’s now back in print! Each twin’s diverging style is evident in each song that she wrote, but they come together for four cohesive, nasal, and lo-fi pop songs. The record’s stop-and-go urgency is most evident in “LeAnna,” an under two-minute song that smacks of drinking, friendship, and being 22. Recorded at home in Birmingham, Alabama by Kyle Gilbride of Wherever Audio / Swearin' (who also plays bass on this record!). For fans of Big Eyes and ‘90s K Records pop. Stream available here. Artwork by Jason Roy. Covers letterpressed at the Bow & Arrow Press in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Learn More

    $13.00

“HEAD IN THREATENING ATTITUDE” is the long awaited debut album by NATTERERS, who over the past couple of years following their demo/flexidisc and “Toxic Care” 7” have quickly imprinted themselves as one of the finest new bands on the UK hardcore punk scene. The album, recorded in France and mastered by the legendary Geza X (producer for DEAD KENNEDYS, GERMS, WEIRDOS, MDC, BLACK FLAG and more) are the first recordings to feature the new rhythm section, last seen in VOORHEES of ROB BEWICK (ex HDQ, LEATHERFACE) and DAVE ALLEN (THE HORROR, YOUNG CONSERVATIVES) who have taken the band up yet another notch when teamed up with Thomas’ angular and powerful guitar and Emma’s crushing vocals. 14 amazing tracks that imprint and see the NATTERERS sound develop, with influences from DEAD KENNEDYS, THE DAMNED, NIGHT BIRDS all present in the mix, but a sound that is distinctly NATTERERS. 6. SUSPECT PARTS- "You Know I Can't Say No" 7"

SUSPECT PARTS- "You Know I Can't Say No" 7"

    $6.50

Suspect Parts is the brainchild of two Americans, one Brit and a German who managed to tame their inner demons with buzzsaw punk/powerpop, a cotton candy-meets-razorblade concoction that goes down surprisingly smooth. Ex and current members of bands like The Briefs, Clorox Girls, Maniac, More Kicks, Radio Dead Ones and Red Dons – they are Suspect, they come from Suspect Parts. Combining 60's pop and bubblegum with late 70's California beach punk and powerpop, Suspect Parts have something brewing that can't be ignored. The Seeds, The Kinks, The Knack and the Buzzcocks can be heard, as well as a little Nuggets, a little Rezillos, a little Protex or Undertones, but with a modern touch. Backward-looking but forward-thinking 60s pop with a punk edge. Suspect Parts have released four 7" singles worldwide on indie labels and their debut LP was released in 2017 on Atlanta's Oops Baby Records and Germany's Taken By Surprise Records. Now their brand new single is finally here. Recorded live to analog tape in Kaulsdorf, east Berlin, engineered by Smail Shock (of legendary Berlin punk Band The Shocks). "You Know I Can't Say No," is a relentlessly catchy uppercut to the senses. It's a heartbreak anthem of resilience, regret and romance - and a summer hit for years to come. Apocalypse Pop. When oil runs out a major line is going to be drawn. Which side are you on? Which tribe are you willing to die for? ... Pop's chosen warriors will rule the apocalypse .... Drop, waiting for the apocalypse to...pop... Suspect Parts new single will be released in the US on Portland's Dirt Cult Records and in Germany on Wanda Records July 19th 2019. Featuring three different versions: black vinyl with regular covers, bone vinyl with regular covers (limited to 100) black vinyl with screen printed covers (limited to 100) Learn More

  8. IRON CHIC / TOYS THAT KILL- Split 12" LP (Clear Orange)

IRON CHIC / TOYS THAT KILL- Split 12" LP (Clear Orange)

    $15.00

Dead Broke & Recess present a split for the ages! We've teamed up to release a split 12" of our own bands, on our very own labels, and it's good as fuck. Iron Chic bring forth 4 brand new songs, taken straight off the cutting room floor of our last album, "You Can't Stay Here". One of these tracks is so good that I actually wanted it on the album, but it just didn't get the vote. Toys That Kill slay it with 5 new songs that were supposed to be part of their next album... but since they are the best band in punk, we asked them to split a 12" with us & they contributed the songs onto this fine piece of wax instead. 2ND PRESSING!!! Clear Orange vinyl limited to 100! Dead Broke Exclusive. (Pressing info: 100 Clear Orange, 100 Solid Green, 200 Black) Learn More
  9. CHILTON- "Little Birds" LP

    CHILTON- "Little Birds" LP

    $15.00

CHILTON is coming straight from the heart center, stripped down high energy, combining the elements of rock, surf, punk, our higher selves and a touch of math where it makes sense. With the agenda to question all levels of information in order to be your own best authority, the music is our medium! CHILTON is a new band out of Brooklyn, NY started by Josh Carothers of cult thrash bands (IFARM / EARWORMS). When Earworms disbanded in 2017, Josh made a call to good buddy BILL Stevenson of the pioneer punk bands (BLACK FLAG / DESCENDENTS / ALL) and asked if he would join in on making some music as one of the guitarists, not the drummer. Bill said yes and the energy was in motion! After writing 15 demo tracks, then whittling them down to 8, Josh reached out to Neil Halpin (Earworms/The Shemps, Last Throes) and asked if he'd be into moving forward with this new project: a bit more 4 on the floor skate rock. Neil jumped in. Josh met Devin Hoff and knew he could get the rad out. Devin was able to record half the album with us before he was summoned to work out of town. Neil picked up the bass and finished what was left. Josh flew out to Colorado at the end of 2017 to record basic tracks with co-owner of the Blasting Room, Jason Livermore, and show Bill the songs. A year later, Josh flew back to Colorado to mix with Jason. Pressing info: 220 on Black vinyl. LP comes w/ download code. Release date: 7/5/2019. SHIPPING NOW!!! (Snag the Chilton LP + Earworms LP for only $20!) Learn More
  10. ADULT MAGIC- S/T LP

    ADULT MAGIC- S/T LP

    $15.00

Almost 2 years in the making, Dead Broke Rekerds & Specialist Subject are proud to present Adult Magic's debut full-length album. Long Island, New York is a very spread out place, but its' family tree of DIY punk bands has been weaving in & out for decades now. Adult Magic are one of the most recent bands in that long established tradition (featuring members of Iron Chic, Broadcaster, Sister Kisser, Crow Bait, Get Bent..) While very much a product of the Long Island scene, their debut album owes as much to 90's alternative rock, as it does to their DIY peers. Songs like Achin', Demotivation & Thru It All wouldn't sound out of place on MTV's 120 Minutes, sandwiched between the latest Sugar and Superchunk singles (you're going to have to imagine the grainy video with the band rocking out in a garage and side story that makes absolutely no sense!). Recorded & Produced by Mike Bardzik at Noisy Little Critter, in Downington, Pennsylvania. With guest vocals from Mimi Gallagher (of Nona, Eight, etc) Adult Magic is Jesse Litwa - Guitar / Vocals, Mike Bruno - Bass and Chris Arena - Drums. (*Option to include Adult Magic's 7" EP for only $2 more!) Pressing info: 300 Black vinyl, 100 Red vinyl (Dead Broke Exclusive), 100 Clear Blue (Specialist Subject Excl.) LP comes w/ download code. Release date: 6/21/2019. Learn More
