  1. WONK UNIT- "Mr. Splashy" CD

    WONK UNIT- "Mr. Splashy" CD

    Regular Price: $12.00

    Special Price $10.00

Wonk Unit’s amazing 5th studio album! 14 brand new banging tracks from your favourite 21st Century Punks! This is what Jonny Takeaway has to say about Wonk Unit. “Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated? Well, you should if you are ignorant of the air, leanings and grandeur of Wonk Unit, London’s improbable heroes. Heroes of community, of politics and melody. Champions of Wonkfest, the ever growing London festival that is key to the punk rock calendar. Yes, punk rock. Individual, ironic, poignant and occasionally wistful, Wonk Unit deliver “Mr Splashy” in your ears and it resonates in a contemporary way, legitimizing the mantra of “21st century punks”. My mate Sean brought home the latest Descendents effort on vinyl recently and spun a few tunes. My reaction?“This sounds like Wonk Unit”. Case closed. Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated? Honk If You Wonk.” RAD GIRLFRIEND RECS Learn More

    SCREECHING WEASEL- "Boogadaboogadaboogada" CD

    $10.00

Chicago's Screeching Weasel generally has a polarizing effect on punk fans - either you love their amateurish, tuneful Ramones imitation and singer/guitarist Ben Weasel's smartass-suburbanite, often pop culture-oriented lyrics, or you hate them. Well, for those of you who love them, here is the re-release of Boogadaboogadaboogada. Re-mastered by Mass Giorgini (Sonic Iguana), it includes new liner notes by band members, and never before seen photos. CD version. Recess Recs. Learn More

  5. QUEERS, THE- "Punk Rock Confidential Revisited" CD

QUEERS, THE- "Punk Rock Confidential Revisited" CD

    $10.00

The Queers revisit their classic sixth full-length album Punk Rock Confidential and breathe new life into old tunes. Long hailed as one of their best albums, Joe Queer and the gang give us their updated versions of classic songs like Tamara is a Punk, Like A Parasite and I Enjoy Being A Boy. With a new line up and several guest musicians from bands like Parasite Diet, The Riptides and Teenage Rehab, the songs find a fresh and powerful new sound while maintaining the quality of the original record. Originally released by Hopeless Records in 1998, the entire record has been re-recorded and re-mastered for a CD release on Rad Girlfriend Records and the vinyl duties being carried by Asian Man Records. A few songs have been replaced with new songs, much like their last release, Beyond the Valley Revisited. The songs are grittier, and snottier with the same amount of bubble gum pop that Queers fans are accustomed to. No Queers collection will be complete without this release. Learn More
  6. QUEERS, THE- "Pleasant Screams" CD

    QUEERS, THE- "Pleasant Screams" CD

    $10.00

Rad Girlfriend Records re-issue on CD of the eighth studio album, and 6th release on Lookout! Before the band recinded their masters, and arguably one of their best, from The Queers. Includes five tracks from the "Today" EP. Pleasant Screams is a non-stop punk and pop-punk affair, produced by Mass Giorgini at Sonic Iguana, and featuring the usual gang of contributors and guest stars. The lyrics are frank and insightful, and the music is the patented Queers blend of buzz-saw Ramones-fueled guitar punk and Joe King's trademark whine. Pleasant Screams features guest vocals from Gretchen of the Smears on the track "You Just Gotta Blow My Mind." Another song, "I Wanna Be Happy," was written by Joe King and Ben Weasel around an unfinished Joey Ramone demo, and drum and second guitar duties are handled by Matt Drastic (TEEN IDOLS) and Dan Vapid (MOPES, SCREECHING WEASEL) respectively. THE QUEERS are one of the few bands that effectively blend classic rock'n'roll elements - think doo-wop, Phil Spector, THE BEACH BOYS - with punk rock's energy, power and attitude. They deserve your ears, eyes and hearts! Learn More

  8. QUEERS, THE- "Don't Back Down" CD

QUEERS, THE- "Don't Back Down" CD

    $10.00

Another Queers reissue! All new digipack format! While THE QUEERS explore whole new areas of pop harmonies that were only hinted at on previous records (there's even a 60s style Farfisa organ on "Janelle, Janelle" and "Punk Rock Girls"), they definitely haven't said goodbye to their own style of bare bones, in your face punk rock, as evidenced by such cute little ditties as "I'm Okay, You're Fucked" and "Brush Your Teeth". "Don't Back Down" features 14 songs, which range from butt-slamming classic punk rock to exquisitely beautiful pop. Remixed and remastered in 2007 by Mass Giorgini, this includes the out-of-print "Bubblegum Dreams" EP Learn More
  9. PORCUPINE- "What You've Heard Isn't Real" CD

PORCUPINE- "What You've Heard Isn't Real" CD

    $10.00

Porcupine was born in 2006 in La Crosse, Wis., where singer/guitarist Casey Virock had previously launched another indie rock trio, Space Bike. Now based in Minneapolis, the band has evolved to full maturity, a potent force propelled by drummer Ian Prince and the most recent addition to the band, bassist Greg Norton (formerly of HÜSKER DÜ). In naming the band, Virock saluted one of his favorite bands, Echo and the Bunnymen, and his songcraft and musical sensibilities swirl the Bunnymen and other New Wavers along with 1960s British psychedelica purveyors (especially Syd Barrett) and 1970s classic rockers. The result is muscular and edgy, infused with melodicism and angular guitar work that puts the band in a class with Queens of the Stone Age and Swervedriver. To date, the band has released two full-length albums (2009’s “The Trouble With You” and 2012’s “The Sensation of Being Somebody”) along with multiple singles and two EPs, the most recent (“Carrier Wave”) recorded with the iconic Steve Albini. Virock’s songs have been heard in television shows including “The Real World,” “Best Ink,” and “The Challenge,” and the band has opened for the Meat Puppets, Mission of Burma, Shiner and The Life and Times. As absorbing and compelling as Porcupine’s recordings are, they are a must-see live band, with Virock, Norton and Prince distilling the songs to their 100-proof essence." Six brand new songs produced & recorded by Kevin Bowe (Paul Westerberg/The Replacements) including a GRANT HART cover! CD version on DC-Jam Records. Learn More
