Somewhere between angular post-punk and straight up punk rock lays Fellow Project. Featuring members of Bridge and Tunnel, the band’s songs feature jangly riffs, staggered tempos, monumental buildups and good old upbeat sing-alongs with male and female dueling vocals. They sound novel and familiar all at the same time. Thousandaires approach the same idea with a slightly more upbeat and straightforward take. The vocals call to mind early Hot Water Music, but the song writing is less traditional and more punk at the same time. Noodling guitars scale the fretboards, but not in a crummy tech metal way. The songs sound like they are written with a nod to the mid-nineties era bands but this is still punk. Members of: Bridge and Tunnel, Get Bent, State Lottery. On various colors!
