True to the project’s earlier releases, this new set of music revolves around love and heartache as told through 50s and 60s pop songwriting styles – doo-wop to country – and filtered through a boisterous DIY punk sound. Parrot’s falsetto, somewhat nasal and utterly delightful vocals, makes him sound like a Daniel Johnston or Half Japanese for a new generation, but unlike Radiator Hospital’s back-catalogue, this set notches up the production."

"After a boatload of EPs and limited run releases, Philly’s Radiator Hospital – the songwriting vehicle of midwest transplant Sam Cook-Parrot – is releasing a new full-length called Something Wild on Salinas Records. True to the project’s earlier releases, this new set of music revolves around love and heartache as told through 50s and 60s pop songwriting styles – doo-wop to country – and filtered through a boisterous DIY punk sound. Parrot’s falsetto, somewhat nasal and utterly delightful vocals, makes him sound like a Daniel Johnston or Half Japanese for a new generation, but unlike Radiator Hospital’s back-catalogue, this set notches up the production. It’s still rough ’round the edges, but is much cleaner, more evenly mixed, and ready to be boomed out of bigger speakers."
