Sawhorse and Fuel were both around at the same time. Fuel was more melodic and very much influenced by Fugazi, while Sawhorse was much harder with a solid Swiz influence. Very powerful and melodic, and with a heavy dose of energy that was inspired by the mid to late '80s Washington D.C. Dischord sound. Sawhorse featured Mike Kirsch on guitar, Skot Meyer on vocals, Josh baker on guitar, Bill Schnider on bass, and Scott Pelkey on drums. Sawhorse also had a 7" on Lookout! Records under the name Skinflutes. They originally started out as the Skinflutes, but they changed their name to Sawhorse by the time the Ebullition 7" was released.
