MAKE IT PLAIN- "Somersault" 7" EP

$3.00
Now with this two song 7 inch, "Somersault" and also their forthcoming split 7 inch with Deep Pockets (on Dead Broke) Make It Plain are about to let folks outside of Long Island be aware of all those facts and more. Reminds me of a cross between Velocity Girl, Lush, Red Dye No. 5 and Rainer Maria. This record is limited to 200 pieces.

It is wonderful sometimes to sit back and watch something grow. Metamorphosis is certainly strange but beautiful thing. Truth be told when I first heard Make It Plain's initial demo it didn't leave much an impression on me. It wasn't as if the songs weren't good, it just felt as if something was missing. Something that I felt was there but just wasn't hearing- then it hit me. I vividly remember going to see Deep Pockets and Weed Hounds play at Mr Beery's and as it turned out Make It Plain were the first to hit the stage. Everything about that night was right- the vibe in the venue was aces, the beer specials were a treat and then Make It Plain just killed it. Everything about the set was perfect and the things I walked away from that set were that A) I really appreciate bands who don't over play and let the melodies/vocals carry the songs B) Kristin MacDougal (Make It Plain's lovely vocalist) has an absolutely wonderful voice and C) Make It Plain write exceptional pop music! And now with this two song 7 inch, "Somersault" and also their forthcoming split 7 inch with Deep Pockets (on Dead Broke) Make It Plain are about to let folks outside of Long Island be aware of all those facts and more. Without being tied down to tired cliches, "Somersault" has a spirit that reminds me the carefree nature of 90s indie rock while sounding relevant for 2012. Make It Plain remind me of a cross between Velocity Girl, Lush, Red Dye No. 5 and Rainer Maria. This record is limited to 200 pieces with full color double sided covers and it is another co-release with my buddy Andy at strictly no capital letters. Pressed at Palomino Records. Covers at Moxicopy
