PENETRATORS, THE- "Legacy" CD
PORCUPINE- "What You've Heard Isn't Real" CD
CRUSADES- "This Is A Sickness & Sickness Will End" CD
CD version of the third record from Ottawa's Crusades. This is what Dave had to say about the new record.
"Thematically, we didn't stray entirely from our recurring 'spiritual' questioning, but this time around I chose to reflect on the loss of two parents within the same year and many of the very human anxieties surrounding mortality that came along with that. In addition to my own family's various coping strategies (from my own atheism to others' deeply held religious beliefs), I looked to many of my favourite poets' and lyricists' own reflections on death and loss, comparing their written experiences to my/our own, attempting to highlight the universality of mortality throughout time and culture."
Musically, we wanted to expand further on what we did with the last record, getting further away from the relatively basic melodic punk rock of our earliest stuff and incorporating more influence from artists whose music we feel is as emotive/dynamic as their lyricism: Cave In, Between Earth & Sky, Sunny Day Real Estate/The Fire Theft, The Spectacle/Kollwitz, Four Hundred Years, etc.
